If we were to evaluate the sensuality of apples, strawberries and chocolate dipped fruit, these sweet edibles just might exceed a fruit bouquet on Valentine’s Day.  For some people, a fruit bouquet of chocolate dipped fruit is far more satisfying than a bouquet of flowers on Valentine’s Day.

But for the naysayers, Fruit Bouquet.org did a little research about the aphrodisiac qualities of apples, strawberries and chocolate and here are the findings:

Apples

History chronicles indicate that the apple has always represented an aphrodisiac power. It  all began with Eve. In the Garden of Eden, Adam’s “better half” was drawn to the only fruit that was not supposed to be consumed. Perhaps, it was the red, round and firm characteristics that enticed Eve to bite into the apple.

FruitandVeggieGuru.com reports that during the Middle Ages apples used to play a part in the dating and relating game:  If a woman slept with an apple nestled under her arm and was able to persuade her crush to consume the apple the next day,  the relationship would blossom?

These days, apples are no longer forbidden and  sleeping with an apple is not a prerequisite for landing the person of one dreams. But in terms of Valentine’s day, the apple is a  lovely member of the fuit bouquet.

There are more than 20 different apple varieties. Here are some of the most popular apples: Braeburn, Fuji, Golden Delicious, Gala, McIntosh, Empire, Jonagold, Red Delicious, Stayman, Rome,  York Imperial. Spartamac, Liberty, Honeygold and more.

Strawberries

At AboutAphrodisiacs.com, strawberries are referred to as a “perfect love food.” Meanwhile, FruitandVeggie.com  purports that the Romans ate the heart shaped fruit to “whet the sexual appetite.”

Chocolate

Although researchers attribute the response from chocolate on its chemical make-up (trytophan and phenylethylamine), to cacao and fruit lovers, chocolate dipped fruit is a definitive aphrodisiac, aptly  given on Valentine’s Day.

And for those in quest of a juicy, natural aphrodisiac, chocolate dipped fruit, (specifically apples and strawberries) may just be the elixir for love this Valentine’s Day.
