While many recipes require carving the fruit in the shape of a flowers and such, aluminum cookie cutters are the secret of how to make a fruit bouquet (the easy way). Choose cookie cutters that resemble a flower, star other botanical shapes. (These supplies are available online or at stores such as Sur La Table and World Market).
- How to keep the fruit from sliding down the spear?
Another secret tactic to make the fruit bouquet is ensuring the fruit does not slide down the spear. Cut all rubber bands. Next, tie the rubber band around the spear 2.5 inches from its tip or where the fruit will be staged on the spear of the fruit bouquet. Repeat this step until all spears are affixed with a rubber band. Use the remaining fruit bouquet to repeat this step.
Wash all fruit before you began to make the fruit bouquet. Them, dab dry.
Next, using a large knife, slice the fruit .5 inches in width.
In a medium sized bowl, squeeze the lemon juice on both sides of the fruit.
This will prevent the fruit from turning brown.
Pierce the fruit, and immediately place in the refrigerator, standing in the vase.
After all the carved fruit of the edible fruit bouquet is in the vase, arrange ornately.
As an optional step to make a fruit bouquet, tie a bow around the vase.
I like making fruit arrangements for weekend dinner. I invent new garnishes for family fun. Later I use the tested ideas for buisness.
